Ex-Man Utd star Angel Gomes rushed to hospital after horror KO with match suspended for 20 mins and rival left praying
FORMER Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes was rushed to hospital with a horror head injury playing for Lille.
Reims’ Amadou Kone saw red for the challenge but was seen praying as Gomes was treated on the pitch for 17 minutes.
Players from both sides in the Ligue 1 match looked devastated as they crowded round in concern.
Gomes appeared to have been knocked out in the incident after just quarter of an hour.
And he was eventually taken off on a stretcher - to applause from all round the Stade de Reims.
Fans of both clubs chanted the name of the former England Under-21 star.

And while the 23-year-old was being treated, Lille officials on the sidelines looked distraught.
He was taken to hospital as the game was halted for 34 minutes in all.
The Old Trafford academy product, who won 18 England Under-21 caps, left United for Lille four years ago.
