Horrified Nottingham Forest stars distraught as Danilo suffers horror leg break as opening day clash SUSPENDED
DANILO appeared to suffer a HORROR leg in break in Nottingham Forest's season opener.
The Brazilian landed awkwardly after an aerial challenge in their Premier League opener against Burnley at the City Ground.
The midfielder's ankle rolled under him after he tussled with Antoine Semenyo and he collapsed to the pitch in agony.
He screamed in agony and the severity of his injury soon became apparent.
His team-mates were left gobsmacked by their fallen team-mate's injury and put their hands on their heads.
Play was immediately stopped and the referee hastily waved Forest's medical team onto the pitch.
They moved quickly to treat the fallen Danilo, with stewards covering him with a makeshift tent.
After eight minutes of treatment, Danilo's damaged leg was stretchered off the pitch.
Both sets of fans at the City Ground applauded the 23-year-old, whose season looks to be over.
Scores of footie fans took to social media to wish Danilo - who has caught the eye of Manchester United - a speedy recovery.
One wrote on X: "Our thoughts go out to Danilo, who has suffered a horror injury."
Another said: "Pray for Danilo, jeez. It’s not looking good."
And another said: "Oh my god That is utterly horrific for Danilo.
"Wishing him a speedy recovery."
One remarked: "Our thoughts are with Nottingham Forest’s Danilo who appears to have suffered a season-ending injury during their first game."
Another chimed in: "Get well soon, Danilo."
Danilo's visibly rattled team-mates tried their best to screw their heads back on after his horror departure.
And they broke the deadlock eight minutes later through striker Chris Wood, who tapped home from inside the box after Neto parried Callum Hudson-Odoi's shot straight into his path.
