Elderly man dies in Hong Kong flat fire in Kennedy Town; 200 people evacuated from block

Police said the body of a man in his 70s was found in the property, along with a charcoal stove.

Hong Kong woman, 88, dies after fire engulfs flat on New Year’s Eve

The force was alerted to the fire in Block B, Smithfield Terrace, Kennedy Town, at 7.34pm.

Firefighters used a water jet and mobilised a team in breathing equipment to fight the blaze.

Police said an investigation into the cause of the fire continued.
