Parents left in hysterics as mum makes massive Elf on the Shelf mistake leaving it scorched
IT'S that time of year again where parents up and down the country are scrambling to hide their cheeky Elf on the Shelf in interesting and funny spots for their kids to find.
But one mum might've taken things a bit too far when she left their household Elf in the oven.
The mum laid the poor Elf down in the oven but forgot all about it - safe to say it didn't end well.
Posting on TikTok, the mum shared the aftermath of the ordeal and showed the Elf laying on the oven rack totally scorched.
There was still smoke coming off the Elf, whose head was nothing more than a pile of black ash on the bottom of the oven.
Not only that, but the Elf's hands and feet had also completely melted off, leaving just his red suit.

"Tis steaming," the mum hilariously captioned the clip, which quickly went viral.
So far, the video has amassed a whopping 2.7 million views and has 426k likes.
Other parents were left in hysterics over the unfortunate blunder, and some even confessed they made the same mistake.
"I did the same thing a few years ago, rest in peace Jingles," one joked.
"He's just getting a nice tan going for summer," a second wrote.
A third commented: "My sister turned the light on while the elf was in when we were kids. The elf burned. My sister cried."
"Mine fell into a candle once, we just put a plaster on it and still use it lol," someone else said.
Meanwhile, another mum has been shamed for for taking things a step to far with her "disgusting" and "cruel" Elf on the Shelf set-up.
After running the bath, the mum tipped out an entire bag of goldfish into it.
"Don't mind me, just fishing!" she wrote on a note which she then taped to the wall.
She then turned the camera to show the fish swimming frantically round in the water, before focusing on the elf's cheeky face.
But people in the comments section were more concerned about what was going to happen to the fish when the stunt was done.
"This is actually disturbing," one raged.
"How careless and selfish," a second added.
And that's no the only Elf-related drama on social media this year - the same mum also came under fire from parents because of her idea that others are ‘too broke’ to do.
The mum, who goes by Cece, cut holes in some of her children's pyjamas and blamed it on the naught Elf.
Then, she wrapped up a small Elf with the pieces of her children’s clothing, and penned a note that read ‘I was getting cold… hope you don’t mind - Elf.’
But annoyed parents didn't like the idea at all, one raged: “This is not funny. Elf on a shelf is supposed to be harmless and non destructive.
"This is just mean to do to your kids.”

Another commented: “Elf on a shelf should be cute and funny. Stuff like this is the same as bullying your children.
"Destroying their property is not a fun game.”
