The FREE hack you can try to stop condensation covering your windows every morning as one mum claims it ‘worked a treat’

CONDENSATION is a sure-fire mood dampener; the pesky water droplets will ruin any surface if not dealt with quickly.

And if you’re not careful, they can turn into mould… which is even harder to get rid of.

Condensation occurs when warm air comes into contact with a cold surface, as can be seen when we breathe, bathe and cook.

It can also happen when there is too much humidity in your home.

When moisture-packed warm air meets a colder surface its temperature drops quickly and releases water, which turns into liquid droplets on the surface.

It’s most common in the bathroom, but others find it plagues windows throughout their homes.

That includes one mum, who was waking up every morning to find her dining room windows drenched in moisture.

She took to Facebook in search of advice. And it turns out, the hack to get her moist issue sorted was FREE.

“How do i avoid this condensation in the windows?” she penned in a cleaning hacks group.

“Every morning for the past few mornings it’s been awful.

“There’s been little puddles in the windowsill in the living room and I’m sure theres child labour laws stopping my toddler getting the rain off the windows every morning.”

Cleaning fanatics were quick to explain that she needed to “reduce the humidity” in her home and give condensation somewhere to escape from.

This can be done without spending a penny by leaving the windows open on the catch and placing a bowl of salt in the room.

“The easiest way to do this is to open the windows every day or leave them on the catch overnight,” one explained.

“Another easy option is to use a dehumidifier; you can get electric ones or small containers instead.

“If you get the containers then you could pop one on each of your window sills.”

Others urged the mum to “open her windows every day to let fresh air in”, as well as leaving a bowl of salt.

Salt is hygroscopic, meaning it draws moisture from the air and absorbs it.

According to some Brits, Himalayan salt lamps are the most effective way to stop condensation from forming on surfaces.

After one night of following the cleaning fanatics’ advice, the mum noticed a serious improvement in her slippery issue.

“Last night, I had windows on night catch and a cup of salt in the living room,” she penned.
