Love Island’s Paige and Finn reveal truth behind split after fans accused them of faking breakup for Ex On The Beach

LOVE Island stars Paige Turley and Finn Tapp have hit back after they were accused of faking their break-up to appear on Ex on the Beach.

The reality couple, who met on the ITV2 dating show in 2020, also revealed the real reason behind their split after three years together.

Scottish beauty Paige, 26, and ex-boyfriend Finn, 24, are set to come-face-to-face in explosive scenes for Paramount+ new series of Ex on the Beach.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun about fans saying they split for the show, Paige said: “I think they’re delusional. Why would you move out of a flat, move cities. It’s pretty drastic to just go on a TV show. I can make money other ways.”

She continued: "We hadn’t actually seen each other since the last time we packed up the flat and left.

"So it was more difficult that we anticipated. When we were on the beach it was fine but when we got into the villa, there was that realisation that we were going to be living together again.

"I’m glad I got the closure and that’s why I’m pretty thankful for the show because we would never had really been in each other’s company or have that time to be in each other’s company.”

While Finn said: “There is somewhat of a journey or progression in terms of how comfortable we are around each other because at the start we didn’t know how to act.

"We hadn’t seen each other for however long but we do get to a point at the end, don’t get me wrong – there are plenty of highs and lows."

Although fans may be hoping for a fairytale ending, the pair confirmed they did not rekindle their romance on the show and have no plans to in the future.

Finn told us: “No, we’re not back together. I’m single not dating,” to which Paige said: “I’m also single and not dating.

“I didn’t find any romantic connections. Me and Chloe [Veitch], nothing progressed after two or three days, it was very shortlived.”

Paige added: “I went in and sailed through with the girls to be honest. There was someone but it was only a date.”

Last September, The Sun revealed that Paige and Finn were set to come face-to-face six months after their split.

A TV insider told The Sun: "There are some Love Island exes who would never wish to share the screen with each other ever again.

"These two aren't like that - their split actually seemed almost friendly - but it's still going to be awkward being on another reality show together again. Maybe we'll see romance, though I probably wouldn't hold my breath."

Paige and Finn won winter Love Island in 2020 and enjoyed a long romance in the real world before calling it quits in April of this year.

Paige previously dated singing superstar Lewis Capaldi.

Telly fans shouldn't hold their breath for an appearance from the Bruises hitmaker though as he's currently dating actress Ellie MacDowall.

Paige has been pursuing a music career since leaving the villa while Finn recently signed for semi-professional football team Banbury United.
