My daughter is 8 & owns a £346k house – people are mad but I don’t care, if she can do it anyone can
A MAN who's eight year old daughter owns a £346,000 house has hit back at trolls who he said are jealous and lack the capacity to make the same sacrifices.
Ruby McLellan's parents were slammed on social media after it was revealed that she and her two siblings bought a house in Victoria, Australia.
Instead of spending their pocket money on sweets, the siblings put £3000 towards a deposit for a four bedroom house two years ago.
The property has already skyrocketed in value and is now worth almost £500,000.
However, Ruby's parents have been criticised online by trolls who claim the move is exploitative and bad parenting.
Cam McLellan, the father of Ruby and her siblings Angus, 14 and Lucy 13, is not fazed by the criticism.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, he said: 'It’s easy for someone who doesn’t have property or hasn’t made sacrifices, to be angry about it and easy to target a young kid who has a leg-up."
The father of three, who is head of the OpenCorp property group said that the people who have been criticising his family should instead devote their time and energy to saving up for a house themselves.
He said: "Young adults’ lifestyles are very flamboyant these days. I worked three jobs, I didn’t go out, I sold my car.
"The young generation need to sacrifice and delay gratification.
"There’s no easy silver bullet but while my kids will get enough to get started, they are not silver spoons. They have a leg up, but so can anyone."
Once Cam's three children are all adults, they will share the profits made from selling the house.
In the meantime, the house is being rented out .
Cam said that the decision to let his kids by a house was to help them to be smart property investors.
He said that before buying the property, he guided his children through the process using illustrations.
However, he said that since Ruby was just six at the time, she struggled to understand how the process worked.
Ruby has said that she thinks being a landlord is "pretty cool" but admitted that she hasn't told any of her friends.
The siblings are already planning to buy a second house, borrowing against the equity of the first house.
Cam and his wife Felicity bought their first house when they were in their early 20s and had the goal of becoming "financially free".
Because of their property investment, the couple haven't had to work much over the last 15 years, and Cam said he only has to work for a few hours every couple of days.
