CDC drops 5-day isolation period for recovering COVID-19 patients

People who are recovering from COVID-19 no longer need to remain isolated for five days after symptoms end, according to new guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Those sick with COVID-19 should stay at home and away from others until at least 24 hours after symptoms get better and they don't have a fever, without medication, according to updated guidance from the CDC.
