I’m an interior designer – my cheap trick makes any pillow look like a million bucks, using an Amazon bargain
WANT your home to look more luxurious but aren't sure where you're going wrong?
The answer might be more simple than you think, according to this interior designer.
Teresa Fox took to Instagram to share the simple trick she swears by to elevate your home all by making your pillows look more expensive.
People will easily be fooled into thinking your forked out the big bucks, but the secret is an Amazon bargain.
"It’s all about the insert," she explained.
So, when you're looking for pillows there's one design element you need to keep an eye out for - a zip.

If the pillows don't have a zip it means you can't remove the cushion insert, and that's the key to making them look ten times better.
Once you find pillows you like, remove the insert and add in a different one from Amazon.
Teresa suggested one that's softer and most importantly, slightly bigger.
"I always size up one size for the insert. So, 18x18” pillow, go with a 20x20” insert," she added.
A lot of pillows come with inserts that do them no justice, and a more plump insert will mean they won't look cheap and flat sat on your sofa or bed.
"This is my trick to make your pillows look nice and full and like an million bucks every time," she said.
The price of the pillow insert will depends on the size of the cover, but prices start from as little as £4 on Amazon for smaller throw pillow inserts.
And don't worry if you've got a set of pillows that all need new inserts - you can grab a set of four for as little as £10.99 as well.
After sharing the hack on Instagram people loved the savvy idea and couldn't wait to use it in their own homes.
"This is a great idea, I'll try this," one wrote
"Love those Amazon inserts, they really do make a huge difference," a second agreed.
And a third suggesting buying feather inserts from IKEA instead, "If you've got the right size pillow, go to IKEA and get a feather insert. They cost around $6 (£4.74)."
However not everyone was convinced buying new inserts was the best idea, and some slammed the idea as being "wasteful."
"So buy a pillow and then buy another pillow Y’all gotta stop having us spend every money... that first pillow was fine," one person slammed.
And someone else mused:"Sooo what do you do with the original insert or does it just head for the landfill?"

Attentively, you could repropose any old pillow inserts by adding them into your new covers, along with the one that's already in there for a plump look.
Of course, this will only work if they're both on the slimmer side, but will still give your pillows the same luxurious look without splurging on extra inserts.
