Jasmine Larsen, who has 145cm long hair and describes herself as ‘Britain’s real-life Rapunzel’, has revealed how she makes a ‘DIY rosemary hair oil’ and a ‘DIY rosemary hair water’ treatment.

Posting on social media, Jasmine, who has hair down to her calves, shared the recipe for her DIY solutions.

She explained that you’ll need five tablespoons of coconut oil, as well as some rosemary and mint leaves.

First of all, you’ll need to wash the leaves.

Following this, you’ll need two saucepans - one full of boiling water and another with coconut oil.

Into both pans, you’ll need to add three to five rosemary sprigs and some mint.

Jasmine then advised: “Bring them to a boil, then let them simmer for five to ten minutes.”

After this, the red-haired beauty added: “Turn off the stove and let it sit for an hour.”

Once you’ve done this, you can decant both your oil and your water into two separate bottles.

Jasmine then explained that she uses the oil before she washes her hair, as she shared: “Apply the oil only as a hair mask and then wash out with shampoo and conditioner.”

She wrote: “Rosemary oil promotes hair growth by improving circulation to the scalp.

“Coconut oil reduces protein loss while you wash your hair.”

It has many scientifically proven benefits

She advised that you need to add the solution to your lengths, not just the roots of your hair, for the “perfect pre-wash treatment.”

When it comes to your DIY rosemary water, Jasmine claimed that she adds this to her hair in-between washes, as she said: “Spray the water whenever.”

She later penned: “I’ve been using rosemary oil as a scalp treatment for over a year now.

“It has many scientifically proven benefits, so here’s two easy ways to incorporate this into your routine.”

If you fancy trying these recipes at home and you don’t have the ingredients already, you can buy coconut oil for just £2 for 250ml from Asda.

You can also pick up 20g of rosemary and 30g of mint from Sainsbury’s, both of which are just 52p each.

Whilst five tablespoons of coconut oil will cost you just 6p, a few sprigs of rosemary and a handful of mint leaves will cost you around 10p per plant, per recipe.

In total, this cheap hack will set you back around 26p per mask.

So in love with your hair. So beautiful

TikTok users

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @jasminelars, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 277,000 views.

Social media users were left stunned at Jasmine’s video and many were eager to not only compliment her locks, but ask for extra information too.

One person said: “So in love with your hair. So beautiful.”

Another added: “LOVE.”

Meanwhile, a third commented: “Does it help to regrow new hairs?”

To this, Jasmine replied: “Yes, especially when you massage it on your scalp.”

At the same time, someone else asked: “How do you store the coconut oil?”

In response, Jasmine wrote: “At room temperature.”

Similarly, another user questioned: “How long can it be stored outdoors?”

Jasmine claimed: “The oil can last several months but the water will only be good for a few days outside of the fridge.”

Not only this, but another user wondered: “How often do you use oil?”

The red-haired beauty then explained: “Either the night before washing your hair or a few hours before.

“I usually leave it overnight but a few hours is also fine.”
