Proud ‘wavy girl’ shares controversial hack that will make frizzy hair feel soft after just one wash – and it’s free
HAIRDRESSERS have long warned us of the dangers of brushing your hair while wet - but how bad really is it?
Well, according to one self-styled “wavy girl”, it’s been the best thing to stop her hair from drying frizzy.
Haircare influencer Sabrina, who has wavy tresses, revealed that she always runs a brush through her hair when it’s wet and loaded up with conditioner, despite professional advice.
She believes it is the best way to “fight unwanted frizz”.
Hair that's wet and filled with moisture is more fragile than hair that's dry, according to the experts at Garnier.
This can lead to snapping and breakage when brushed - something most women want to avoid.

Not Sabrina, though.
Taking to Instagram, she shared a tutorial on how she combs conditioner through her lengths to ensure glossy waves once her hair is dry.
Sabrina claims that the decision, which she always does with a brush designed for wet hair, has meant “less wet frizz, defined waves and softer hair”.
“I wish I knew this sooner when I started my wavy hair journey,” she said.
“I’ve always been told not to brush my hair when it’s wet, but I’ve learned that it’s probably the best thing to do for wavy and curly hair.”
According to Sabrina, going against the grain has been the “best way” for her to fight the dreaded wet frizz.
“So after I put conditioner in my hair, a wet brush to detangle it,” she continued.
“It also helps to distribute the conditioner throughout your hair.
“This has been the best way to fight wet frizz and to just make my hair feel super silky when I’m conditioning it.
“After brushing it through, I start to squish the condish’.
“This basically helps boost moisture and drive the product into your hair cuticles.
“I do this and leave the conditioner in for about five minutes.
“If you’re using a deep conditioning treatment, you’re gonna want to leave it in for at least ten minutes.
“Afterwards, you rinse it out with cool or warm water.
“You just don’t want to use hot water as that can create unwanted frizz when you dry your hair.”
Her tutorial attracted a lot of mixed reviews, with some beauty buffs vowing to never put a brush near their wet hair, while others considered giving Sabrina’s idea a go.
One hairdresser even penned that watching the video "made her wince".

“With wavy hair, it's a bit less clear but I say do what gives you the best results.”
