I tried Beyoncé’s new haircare brand for my curls – it smells spicy and the packaging is familiar but I’m impressed
AFTER months of speculation, Beyoncé finally dropped her very first haircare line last week - and the reviews have been rolling in.
Cécred, pronounced like “sacred”, launched its Foundation Collection of eight products for cleansing, conditioning and repairing.
Among the first drop is a Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub, Moisturizing Deep Conditioner, Hydrating Shampoo and Reconstructing Treatment Mask.
There’s also a Fermented Rice & Rose Protein Ritual, Moisture Sealing Lotion and Nourishing Hair Oil.
A Hydrating Conditioner is going to be added to the starting line-up very soon.
Curly hair-fluencer Ashley Nylander gave her honest first impressions on the products, picking up on everything from the spicy smell to the “hard plastic” packaging.

She started off her review by applying the Hydrating Shampoo which has a “gentle lather” and “doesn’t strip” the hair.
She followed this with the Moisturizing Deep Conditioner, sharing that it is “so thick and luxurious” and her “standout product”.
Once conditioned, Ashley went in with the Moisture Sealing Lotion, which she described as “hydrating, lightweight and soft hold”.
She finished the routine with Beyoncé’s Nourishing Hair Oil, revealing shiny and bouncy curls styled with a diffuser.
According to Ashley, the products have a “spicy” smell - but she thinks it’s “incredible”.
“I really love it,” she penned on TikTok. “They named the scent ‘temple oud’.
“It has spices, jasmine, lavender, oud, sandalwood and musk.
“It’s spicy and musky but not too strong - I want it in a perfume.”
When asked to describe the texture of the packaging, Ashley said it was “like a hard plastic”.
Eagle-eyed shoppers noticed the style of Cécred’s packaging is very similar to Kim Kardashian’s skincare line, SKKN.
“The packaging is giving SKKN by Kim,” one viewer penned under the video.
“The inaugural collection is beneficial for hair textures from straight to coily and hair states—including virgin, colour-treated, chemically processed, and heat-styled—that need extra moisture and strength,” a Cécred spokesperson penned in a press release.
It’s not just her new haircare brand that has everyone talking, though - Beyoncé is currently shining bright after topping the UK singles chart for the first time in almost 14 years with Texas Hold ’Em.
It now looks set for another week at the top, early chart figures show.
