Coronation Street viewers spot ‘clue’ soap villain won’t be around for long ahead of shock return
CORONATION Street fans were left devastated after spotting a clue that the returning character won't be sticking around.
Coming up on Coronation Street, Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) returns to the cobbles to cement his new business partnership with Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges) – and his love life looks up when Sarah Barlow (Tina O'Brien) suggests a date.
When Damon returns to the cobbles to get revenge on Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), it isn’t long until he’s paying a visit to a prison.
Damon will be reunited with his brother Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor), which will be their first ever scenes together.
He will come face to face with Harvey, who wants something from his brother.
However, fans were left disappointed to learn that Damon actor Ciarán actually lives in Australia, meaning he will only do a short stint in Weatherfield.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "It’s an actually pity Ciarán (Damon) lives in Australia in real life. #Corrie although I knew that before the #BigSoapQuiz it just means he won’t be staying."
Ciarán recently starred in the thriller Riptide, which was created by the Neighbours production company.
When Inside Soap magazine asked if he would ever appear in the soap opera Neighbours, he said: "Yeah, if it meant I could have regular work near my family, then absolutely.
"Melbourne is a great city. I'd want to play something completely different to anything I've done before, so maybe some old washed-up, Meth-head surfer. I'd get to be out in the sun!
"They're a lot more laid-back in Australia. The pace is a bit slower — but the weather's better!
"When I'm here freezing on the cobbles and they say they're taking your coat as we're going for a take and you have to act warm, it's hard! I did a job in Melbourne last January [their summer]; it was scorching. I can't handle the cold now."
Teasing what's to come for the Damon, Corrie boss Iain MacLeod shared: "It’s a brilliant, exciting, high octane story. I love those characters. They always feel sort of really glossy and really naturally at home in this kind of big Coronation Street storyline.
"As it shakes down, Damon’s revenge may start to take a backseat to his feelings for Sarah.
"But just in case you thought that that was all going to be smooth running from there or plain sailing from there, Adam then can’t stand the idea that this guy’s back and he’s maybe got designs on Sarah.
"He decides in his mind that to protect Sarah, he might want rid of Damon. So as Damon’s calming down and Adams’ going into the direction and his plans to rid himself of Damon, we’ll see him pay a little visit to Damon’s half brother Harvey, because he’s no fan of Damon’s either. And they might form this kind of unholy alliance.
"They have a shared problem in the form of Damon and think they can help each other in that regard. So it’s yeah, it’s got fantastic actors in it as all stories do. The storyline is packed full of twists and turns and excitement."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
