‘You’ll get food poisoning and pickpocketed’ I went to a Christmas market that was WORSE than Winter Wonderland

A BLOGGER has left a scathing review of a very popular Christmas market - and warned that you may be pickpocketed if you attend.

Jay’s Journey urged tourists to stay away from the yuletide fair following his unsavoury visit.

Among his grievances were rude staff, “overpriced tat” being sold in the cabins and claims that you’ll contract food poisoning.

The festive attraction in question is London’s Christmas Market in Leicester Square.

“If you go to one Christmas market this year, don’t go to this one,” food reviewer Jay said.

Christmas in the square at Leicester Square is absolutely heaving and full of overpriced tat.

“You’ll probably get food poisoning as well.

“It’s everything that’s bad about Winter Wonderland crammed into a tiny square in central London.”

The market had a sell-out run in 2022, and has returned this year until January 6.

But Jay strongly claims that it isn’t worth a visit.

“The people are rude, the food is rank and you’ll probably get pickpocketed,” he said.

The market features 25 wooden cabins for fairground games, bratwurst sausage stands and mulled wine bars.

By comparison, there are over 200 rides, attractions and food stands at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland

Before the Leicester Square market opened its doors on November 8, bosses claimed that visitors would be greeted with “buzzing festivity”.

“You'll discover traditional Christmas market stalls, each offering seasonal treats, delectable food, delicious drinks and gifts,” they said.

Jay’s video attracted over 10k views on TikTok, with some people taking to the comment section to weigh in.

“Sounds like all the Christmas markets,” one said.

“I absolutely despise them.”

But Jay was quick to defend the festive attractions as a whole, assuring that “there are some good ones”.

“Yes, overpriced tat,” another viewer agreed.
