The self-described "boring housewife" explained that she'd seen the tip on a Facebook group, so decided to invest in a thermal door cover for her own house.

"The back door, honestly, it's so draughty," she said in a video on her TikTok page.

"I can't be the only one with a draughty door!" she wrote over the top of the clip.

Before continuing: "And I'd seen someone in a group on Facebook had this thermal door cover.

"So I did a little Amazon search and managed to find one.

"It's kind of like a weighted blanket, but for your door."

The cover uses Velcro to attach to your own door, and the woman admitted she couldn't believe how effective it was - especially since it had cost her just £16.99.

"It is so good," she gushed.

"Honestly, I was so surprised at how well it worked.

"Definitely a thumbs up from me!"

She added in the caption: "This thermal insulated door cover has changed my life today.

"Our kitchen is usually so drafty!"

People in the comments section were quick to weigh in, with one asking: "I was literally looking st theses and thinking do they actually work.

"Are they worth it?"

To which the woman replied: "I've only had mine up for today but I really have noticed a difference.

"I usually have to have a heater on in the kitchen but I've turned it off."

"I'm tempted but would only want to use it at nighttime - would it be easy to put up and down just for the evening?" another questioned.

"Yeah, it's attached with Velcro," she responded.

"Not the most attractive but does the job!"

"Are you aware that the door has a winter and summer adjustment on the door frame?" a third asked.

With the woman replying: "Yes - we have had it adjusted and it needs replacing.

"This is a cheaper solution for us at the moment."

The positive reviews of the door cover kept on coming on Amazon too, with one writing: "Did a good job.

"Kept about 80% of the cold out despite not fitting my door perfectly.

"It's saving me a lot of money on heating bills."

"Excellent, perfect fit, easy to install Velcro has really good glue," another added.
