‘Barely see them!’ moan EastEnders fans as three iconic stars ‘failed by writers and turned into glorified extras’
EASTENDERS fans have complained that three stars have been "failed by the writers" and turned into "glorified extras".
The BBC soap has a large cast and so it stands to reason that each character can't have a major storyline on the go at all times.
But some EastEnders fans think three characters in particular have been overlooked for big on-screen moments for far too long.
Taking to a soap forum, one fan shared a post titled: "Are Martin, Felix and Halfway now extras?"
They wrote underneath: "I barely see them on screen - I can't imagine they would want to stick around with so little scenes?
"I can't even remember when Martin had a storyline? Possibly getting furious at Theo about 6 months ago. The only recent scene remember him is when he said he was leaving to the US!

"Felix, brother-less, now pretty much family-less, feels now more like a spare-part than ever and has the same amount of lines as Tracey the barmaid.
"Halfway is just an extension of Ben at this point, the last prominent moment was being whacked by Jay over 4 months ago."
Another wrote: "The show need to do better by Martin. As the son of Arthur and Pauline Fowler he should be front and centre of the show."
A third commented: "The problem with Martin is that as he’s aged, he’s got incredibly boring. They tried to go down the hard man route and it was terrible.
"They need a serious rethink of the character on his return. You can still be an ‘everyday man’ and have an edge to you. Arthur was a bit of a drip but Pauline was ferocious. I can’t see why Martin can’t be a nice combination of both.
"Halfway can bugger off, but I’m disappointed in the writers for failing Felix. The actor is decent but given nothing to do."
Meanwhile a fourth shared: "They haven’t even tried with Felix in particular. He must’ve been on the show for around 2 years now, with no material given since Avery’s death.
"We see more of Tracey or Marie (the actual extras) than him!"
EastEnders airs on BBC One and is available on BBC iPlayer.
