At the moment, the biggest villains are Nish Panesar and Dean Wicks, with the latter returning to Walford last year.

Dean - played by Matt Di Angelo - didn't receive a warm welcome from residents after he raped Linda Carter back in 2014.

But it hasn't stopped him from laying down roots in Walford again, co-owning Beale's Eels and welcoming daughter Jade to live with him.

Despite terrorising Linda Carter once again, Jade seems to be relatively oblivious to her dad's actions.

During Monday's episode, the teen even made moves to set her dad up with a woman called Fern who had gone into the eatery before flirting with Dean.

Jade made sure to get Fern's number before giving it to her dad, but the scenes angered many EastEnders fans.

Taking to X - formerly Twitter - one raged: "I hate the fact they're semi-trying to redeem Dean."

Another added: "I don’t not want to see Dean dating turning off bye.”

A third commented: “Stop trying to humanise Dean.”

Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: "Why tf are we watching dean getting set up on a date it's disgusting.

"So sick seeing him go around the place as if he has done nothing wrong no one should be giving him any advice about anything whatsoever they should be staying well clear of him he really needs to go."

Another EastEnders viewer didn't hold back, ranting: "F**k off dean why are the right is trying to normalise this sick b*****d."
