I’m a mom of 10 – I get trolled as I can’t afford to treat my kids without going broke, but my DIY hacks keep life cheap
HAVING kids can be costly, and having 10 can almost break your budget.
The mother of a large family has shared some of the DIY hacks she uses to save money.
In her video, Tiffany Connell (@tiffany_connell) responded to online trolls who judge her for her cost-cutting tricks.
"You take time out to make something more special for your child and people have nasty comments," pointed out a viewer.
The mother-of-10 explained that the haters don't bother her because she is creating memories for her children.
"Having 10 kids, I can’t afford to buy everything from the store or for professional things so I teach myself how to do it," Tiffany said.

She gave an example of one of the unique skills she had recently learned.
"We went to a reptile expo a couple of months ago and my kids saw that there was face painting there," Tiffany said.
"After paying for the expo, I could not afford to do the face painting so what I did was I ordered a professional face painting kit and I taught myself how to be pretty good at it," she told viewers.
"Now, before we go to the expos, I paint their faces beforehand," she explained.
Tiffany has made the most of YouTube tutorials to teach herself a wide variety of skills.
"My girls wanted to get their nails done so I taught myself how to do nails, they wanted their hair done so I taught myself how to do hair," she said.
Tiffany revealed that her new talents aren't limited to hair and beauty.
"If they’re in the mood for something from a restaurant and we cannot afford to go to that restaurant I will learn how to make it," she said.
"It does taste, maybe not just as good but almost as good," Tiffany joked.
She also explained that she constantly window-shops to find the best deals for her kids.
"My kids are not spoiled at all, they are very grateful for everything, even if it's homemade, even if I did it myself, they still love it," Tiffany said.
"I think when my kids are older they’re going to think back on a memory or look back at a picture and they’re just going to remember that cool hairstyle, they’re not going to care who did it," she added.
