POLICE searching for missing Lucy Charles have sadly recovered a body from a river.
Lucy Charles, 39, was last seen walking past a pub in Bangor-on-Dee, Wrexham, at 5.34pm on December 22.
A huge search was launched after her belongings were discovered on the bank of the River Dee.
Specialist police officers today confirmed a body has tragically been found.
Chief Inspector Stephen Roberts said: "Formal identification is yet to take place, but Lucy's family have been informed, and are being supported by specialist officers.
"The local Coroner has also been informed. My thoughts are with Lucy's family and friends at this difficult time."
Officers had released CCTV of Lucy's last movements before she disappeared just days before Christmas.
She could be seen walking past the pub wearing a hi-vis jacket.
Her personal belongings had been discovered on the bank close to the Severn Trent Water Treatment Works.
Officers from the North West Underwater Search Team had been combing the river for missing Lucy.
They had urged members of the public not to venture close to the water as it was at risk of flooding due to the weather.
