Savvy mum shares genius hack to pack her Aldi food shop with no bags – and people say she’s changing lives
A SAVVY mum has revealed a game-changing alternative to plastic bags and it’s making the weekly shop a total breeze.
Instead of grappling with bags for life (or juggling items after forgetting them) Canadian mum Jess uses her laundry baskets - and people are convinced she’s a genius.
Sharing the revelation with fellow mums, Jess stated in a recent video: “Today I went grocery shopping and I did not bring bags.
“No I didn’t forget them.
“As you may know, at Aldi you either need to bring your own bags or snag boxes off the shelves.
“Honestly, I’m not about that life.”

Jess records her regular food shop for all to see, popping a coin in her trolley and throwing in regular items such as fruit and vegetables, loaves of bread, pasta and snacks for her little girl.
“I never remember to bring bags and the boxes are just inconvenient,” she says. “And they don’t leave them out like they used to.
“Instead, I tried this hack that I used to do years ago but somehow I got away from it.”
As Jess’ trolley is piled higher and higher with groceries, everyone wants to know how she’s going to pack it all without boxes and bags.
“I popped two of my old laundry baskets in the trunk of my car and when I tell you I am never going back, I mean it,” she states.
“A week's worth of groceries fit in two laundry baskets and bringing those in from the car was so convenient.
“One trip per basket and one for milk - it made putting groceries away so easy.”
Thousands of fellow parents follow Jess on TikTok and they’ve all praised her amazing hack.
One user replied: “This is genius! Work smarter not harder.”
And a second said: “This is so smart, you are freaking amazing.”
But that’s not the only hack up this mum’s sleeve.
As she packs away her food items, Jess shows off her magic storage cupboard with a clever pull-out interior, double-sided shelves and a pull-out counter underneath.
“You guys are obsessed with this cabinet so I figured I’d show you again. It’s easily my favourite thing in the house,” she chimes.
The super organised mum adds: “I even prepped all of my fruit and put it in the fridge and because I’m on a roll, I also threw out all the old food.
