Mum-of-22 Sue Radford shares relatable back-to-school post as getting tantruming kids up proves to be a nightmare

IF you find it hard to get your kids ready for school in the mornings, imagine how tricky it is when you have 22 kids.

Sue Radford, 48, from Morecambe, Lancashire, told her followers how her bumper brood is back to school this week after Christmas - and it looked very challenging indeed.

Sue shared a relatable post about how one of her kids was lying under the sofa refusing to come out and there had been tantrums in the morning.

Once she had managed to get her kids to school, Sue was finally able to unwind with a hard-earned cuppa.

She wrote on Instagram: “Second coffee of the day is definitely needed after that morning.

“My plan for the day is to totally gut this house.

“I feel like with the kids off school it’s always a mess so can’t wait to give it a good clean and tidy up.”

The Radfords have certainly been busy lately.

Not only has their Channel 5 show 22 Kids and Counting returned for a new season this week, but Sue and Noel are also releasing their first book.

The Radfords: Making Life Count will be released on February 29 and will share behind-the-scenes secrets about the Lancashire-based family. 

Sue told her followers: “We hope you enjoyed tonight's #22KidsandCounting - the first episode of 2024 and the new series. 

“For those that missed it, you can catch up on @5Star. 

“We feel so lucky to be kicking off the year with our forth series and as well as the show we have something very exciting launching in 2024…

“We are thrilled to announce you can now pre-order our first book and it will be available to buy in stores from 29th Feb 2024.”

Sue and Noel Radford shot to fame in 2012 as the parents of Britain’s largest brood, landing a brand new series with Channel 5 in 2021. 

They are parents to Chris, 34, Sophie, 30, Chloe, 28, Jack, 26, Daniel, 24, Luke,23, Millie, 22, Katie, 21, James, 20, Ellie, 18, Aimee, 17, Josh, 16, Max, 15, Tillie, 13, Oscar, 12, Casper, 11, Hallie, eight, Phoebe, seven, Archie, six, Bonnie, five and Heidie, three.

Sadly the couple's 17th child Alfie was still born on July 6, 2014.

They have been raising children for over 30 years (including their 14 grandchildren) in the coastal town of Morecambe, which is also home to the Fury family

Sue continued: “So many of you have asked over the years if we'll ever bring out a book and it's something we've wanted to do for a long time and now finally we've found time amongst the chaos of daily life to do it!

"It's been such a lovely experience, reflecting on our journey to becoming Britain's biggest family from first meeting to every pregnancy, birth and beyond. 

“We love sharing our lives with you and we hope you'll enjoy the book and all our stories old and new. 

“As ever, thank you for all your support and kindness. From our family to yours, Happy New Year! 

“Let's make 2024 really count x”

Fans seemed excited, with one saying: “Loved the show cant wait to read the book.”

Another added: “Already pre ordered on Amazon.”

They don’t rely on benefits for their bumper brood, but support their family with a pie shop business.
