REDDIT users have been left scrambling for answers following an apparent outage.

The popular social news website is down as of Wednesday, August 28.

Reddit issued a statement acknowledging it was investigating the outage.

Users flocked to other social media platforms to commiserate over the site being down.

One person shared a screenshot on X with the message, "Community not found."

The message continued, "There aren't any communities on Reddit with that name. Double-check the community name or try searching for similar communities."

The outage spiked around 4 pm on Wednesday, Down Detector reported.

Over 156,000 users reported an outage, per the outlet.

59% reported issues with the Reddit app, 28% with the website, and 13% with the server connection.
