I got Aldi’s famous ‘Too Good To Go’ bag but it was rubbish – I got a pile of 30 of the same product

GETTING groceries can be challenging at the best of times, with long queues, endless shelves to sort through and rising costs at the checkout.

One woman decided to save her pennies by grabbing a Too Good To Go bag from Aldi and was shocked after receiving a huge amount of one breakfast item.

With the cost of everything skyrocketing at the moment, it is no wonder that many of us are trying to find ways to save at the supermarket.

Rather than just relying on loyalty schemes or yellow label discounts, more shoppers are using apps like Too Good to Go to find low-cost food in their local area.

For those who haven’t used the app before, it allows shops and restaurants to share that they have additional food available and will put together bags for users to pick up.

These grab usually coast round £3-£4 each, with customers only discovering what is inside after purchase – so it is luck of the draw what you’ll receive.

Having heard ‘amazing things’ about the environment app, Tiktikor Lisa was keen to try it out for herself and found that her Aldi was part of the environmentally friend scheme.

Better known as The Side Hustle Sister on the app, the content creator stopped by the supermarket and later shared with her 35,000 fans what she’d got for £3.30.

Unsurprisingly, the mum was a little shocked after getting multiples of several items including a very specific breakfast staple.

As the busy mum unloaded her bag, she admitted that she’d been a little concerned looked and told fans: “On first glance, it looks quite bread heavy but let’s have a look.”

Pulling out three packs of Golden Delicious apples, giving her 18 in total, Lisa was pleasantly surprised by how much fruit she’d gotten.

“That’s not a bad start, my kids’ love apples they have them in packed lunches and as a snack, so that’s a great start,” she gushed.

Sticking with the fruity theme, the mum also found the supermarket had included a punnet of plums, which would help her partner stick to their new health goals.

“My other half is trying to eat more fruit this year, so he will be eating that,” she added, as she placed it to the side.

The thrifty expert also uncovered a classic Christmas treat hidden in amongst her items, a Pigs in Blanket quiche.

Having bought the bestselling item over the festive period, Lisa knew what it had cost and said: “I’m sure I paid £2.29 or £3.29 for this, so having that sort of pays for the box.”

After seeing this in the bag from Aldi, Lisa had hoped she would have the right items to make a family dinner – however that wasn’t quite the case.

Instead, the mum found that she’d been given over 30 crumpets – yes, you read that right.

She laughed as she pulled out three six packs of teddy bear crumpets, and then an additional two six packs of toasters crumpets.

If that wasn’t enough bread to leave you feeling full up, Lisa also shared that she’d gotten a 6 pack of Warburtons’ bread rolls, as well as two packets of wholemeal and white rolls.

This gave her a grand total of over 22 baps, which she admitted the majority would have to go into the freezer for the foreseeable.

Whilst she might not have been able to make a meal, it seems that breakfast time was covered with the Too Good To Go bag.

She even admitted that she’d been impressed by the value, despite not getting what she’d hoped for.

Lisa told her fans: “It’s £3.30, there’s a lot of crumpets, a lot of bread…it’s not what I was hoping for but £3.30, you can’t complain really.”

Well, at least that’s one meal sorted for the foreseeable.
