Shoppers are racing to bag Asda dupe of fancy £200 Harrods Easter Egg – and the taste is award winning
SHOPPERS are racing to get their hands on an Asda Easter egg that is a dupe of a posh £200 Harrods version.
Priced at just £15, the premium supermarket egg incorporates single origin Peruvian dark chocolate, blonde chocolate and a smooth hazelnut Gianduja and looks almost identical to the £200 sold at the luxury department store.
And despite being £185 cheaper than its counterpart, Cocoa Noir doesn’t just look the part but it tastes fantastic too - in fact it’s even won awards.
Made with the highest-quality chocolate, the affordable, yet stylish, dupe came top in the Good Housekeeping Institute Easter Taste Test in the dark chocolate category beating several other supermarkets such as Waitrose and Aldi.
Sarah Burns, Product Development Manager for Confectionary at Asda, said, “Easter is a time for indulgence, and this year we wanted to push the boat out even further with our new Cocoa Noir egg.
“More shoppers are embracing dark chocolate eggs than ever before and having been made from the highest quality single-origin Peruvian dark chocolate, the egg is layered with decadent Gianduja sure to delight fans of hazelnut and praline.”

This isn’t the first Easter dupe to have bargain-hunters rushing to the shops.
Aldi also had shoppers dashing for the door with their dupe of the Toblerone Easter egg.
The fantastic new chocolate treat has been called the Swiss Mountain Egg and according to Aldi it "tastes just like Toblerone".
Much like the classic bar of Toblerone, the egg is made up of silky Swiss milk chocolate packed with drizzles of honey and almond nougat pieces.
The delicious new addition to Easter comes in a beautifully packaged box and even includes four mini Mountain Bars inside that include the much-loved ridges of the classic Toblerone bars.
Even the egg draws a close resemblance to Toblerone bars as it features a number of raised bites - much like the official alternative egg.
And to make it even better it only costs £6.99 for the entire 240g egg and four extra bite-sized chocolates.
Making it an impressive 31 per cent cheaper than the £10 Toblerone equivalent being sold at other supermarkets such as Asda and Morrisons.
