BBC BREAKFAST fans have 'switched off' the show as they slammed its 'moronic' string of interviews.

The flagship Beeb programme riled up some of their loyal fans on Wednesday morning.

Jon Kay was once again joined by BBC News host Sarah Campbell to bring viewers the latest news.

Sally Nugent was missing once again from the iconic red sofa after hosting alone on New Year's Day.

With The Traitors finally making its highly-anticipated return to screens this evening, the BBC Breakfast hosts covered the occasion.

Two of the show's first ever contestants from series one joined Jon, 54, and Sarah in studio.

But as Hannah Byczkowski and Theo Mayne spoke, it seems fans at home were changing the channel.

They slammed BBC Breakfast bosses as they demanded they wanted news and not 'rubbish reality shows'.

Writing on social media, one viewer said: "Darts and reality shows? Moronic."

A second said: "Time to switch off, not interested in rubbish reality shows, we want a news programme."

"Thanks for the heads up. I'll avoid it," said a third.

While a fourth simply commented 'reality shows' alongside a sleeping emoji.

Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman will once again front The Traitors.
