I’m in my 40s – I never powdered my dry skin but that changed with Huda Beauty, it gives me a great glow and lift
A BEAUTY guru in her forties has sparked a rush for a face powder that helps skin defy the signs of aging.
She had initially been skeptical of the Huda Beauty makeup product due to her dry skin.
Amanda (@itsamandasuarse) has over 3,200 followers on TikTok, where she shares beauty tips for mature women.
“As a woman over 40 with normal to dry skin, powder and I don’t always get along,” she said.
“In fact, if you’ve been here for any length of time you know I never powder my face.
“But this powder caught my attention.”
She held up Huda Beauty’s Easy Bake and Snatch pressed powder, which costs $38 on the brand’s website.
“I have mine in the shade Pound Cake,” she said.
“The reason that this caught my attention is unlike her Easy Bake loose powder this one seems to be a little luminous.
“That might not be everybody’s cup of tea but for somebody who has drier under-eyes and skin, luminous is my jam.”
Amanda examined the packaging of the powder which came with a mirror and a small puff.
However, she decided to use a Beauty Blender velour puff instead of the one included with the Huda Beauty powder.
She applied the powder using a fluffy brush on the right side of her face, before using the Beauty Blender on the left side.
“We’re gonna go right under the undereye,” she said applying with the brush.
“I have on my normal concealer which is Winky Lux Peeper Perfect and we’re just gonna set under the eye.
“I see that it is still luminous but it did mattify just a bit.”
Having repeated the application on the other side of her face with the puff, she compared how the powder looked.
“I feel like the side with the brush is a little bit more luminous, you can see the glow still,” she said.
“The side with the puff is a little bit more mattified because the puff is going to pick up more product.”
She went about her day as normal before sharing her verdict on the makeup product.
“I like the powder,” she said after wearing it for over six hours.
“I don’t feel like I’m wearing powder which is shocking for me because I pretty much hate every powder.
“This side has more coverage and honestly looks a little bit more lifted,” she said looking at the side that had been applied with the puff.
“It didn’t cake up, didn’t separate, didn’t crease crazy.
“You can see my fine lines and texture but you know what, there’s no concealer or powder that’s gonna make those disappear.
“They are there, and there to stay, and they are only going to get deeper.
“So we need to live with that.
“I think this is really nice, I’m gonna call this mature skin approved.
“I like both sides, I honestly have no issues with this powder. I think it looks beautiful.”
Amanda raved that the powder was worth spending on as she advised other women over 40 to give it a try.
