‘Scanned at 60p so I grabbed another’ shopper shows off Asda ‘bargain of the century’ that’ll sort mismatched cutlery
A SHOPPER has proudly showed off her 60p cheap buys from Asda, which she described as the ‘bargain of the century’.
So if you’ve got a kitchen drawer full of mismatched cutlery (and don’t worry, we all do), or your little ones are constantly ‘misplacing’ spoons after taking them to school, you’ll need to listen up.
A bargain hunter mum was left open-mouthed when shopping in her local Asda, when she noted that the chain’s grey 32 piece cutlery sets had been slashed.
Thrilled with her cheap find, Charlotte Quinn took to social media to alert other shoppers.
Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with a staggering 2.4 million members, Charlotte shared a picture of her purchases and penned: “Bargain of the century for me today at Asda.”
She also explained: “Being a mother of five I'm always short on cutlery, I'm sure they eat yogurts and throw their spoons in the bin.

“Anyway, I was looking for new cutlery and saw these on the shelf marked down from £12 to £6. I thought I'll grab one at the price.”
But Charlotte then shared: “Scanned through at 60p so I went back for another.”
What should have cost Charlotte £24 for two 36 piece cutlery sets, in fact cost her only £1.20.
Not only does she now have 16 new forks, knives, spoons and teaspoons in her drawer, but she also saved herself a whopping £22.80 on her haul too.
Charlotte shared her post just six hours ago, but it has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 655 likes and 104 comments.
Social media users were left stunned at the cheap buys and many took to the comments to express this.
One person said: “60p!? I'd have bought another 20. Last you a lifetime wouldn't they!”
Another added: “Awesome find!”
A third commented: “That's a great price.”
Whilst someone else chimed in: “Make a good buy for those going to university as well.”
Meanwhile, another savvy shopper penned: “Well done you, that's a great bargain.”
