BBC News host left mortified as major tech glitch leaves him scrambling for help live on air
A BBC News host was left embarrassed and flustered when a major technical glitch occurred, leaving him desperately seeking help live on air.
The broadcaster was victim to a technical issue which caused problems with the sound.
It happened during yesterday evening's sports news bulletin, on BBC's Look North when the presenter opened the show as normal.
Alasdair Gill began: "Between the club and supporters trust, left consortium have broken down. Mr Singh took over at pools 2018 but put the club up for sale in April last year citing supporter disenchantment."
Just as he was about to finish speaking, the sound started glitching, causing him to turn around anxiously in search of his microphone.
"I think I've lost my mic," he exclaimed.

Luckily co-presenter, Jeff Brown stepped in and offered him his mic.
Jeff could be heard in the background, laughing, as he said: "Borrow mine for a second."
Although he tried to remain composed, the on-air blunder left Alasdair mortified and red-faced.
Despite this, the journalist thanked Jeff and calmly finished the report.
BBC viewers also spotted the awkward moment, and took to X/Twitter to share their thoughts.
Onew wrote: "Having mic issues? Just use your co-presenters."
A second added: "Well that was awkward."
A third penned: "Pedant here...I think that maybe should be 'co-presenter's.' Sorry, I sometimes can't help myself."
