Ever since she showed up on the street, fans have had a love-hate relationship with Gemma.

Her brash and occasionally rude behavior has divided viewers.

The barmaid is often seen sat scoffing her food with her mouth open in the ITV soap.

But it seems Gemma's table manners are causing quite the stir - and not in a good way.

Many fans shared that they are grossed out by the character's eating habits.

Viewers took to social media platform, Reddit and expressed their disgust at the character's "awful habit,".

Many said that watching Gemma devour her food with her mouth wide open was enough to turn their stomachs.

A user raged: "Arrgh, I can't stand watching Gemma eat! I get that she's meant to be a slob, but honestly her ghastly voice and her over the top shouty talking while eating with her gob wide open grinds my gears...

"Here in New Zealand we've just got the awful mother back out of prison too.. Really over that entire family!"

Another fan who agreed, chimed in: "It really turns my stomach when Gemma talks with her mouth full. Is it meant to be funny or a comment on how working class people are uncouth? Whatever the reason, it's awful and needs to stop."

A third complained: "Worst actress and character in the programme. I hope every day that I'll read that she's leaving."

A fourth fumed: "She's trying to catch flies to compensate for killing Sinead's venus flytrap by feeding it kebab."
