Jonathan worked as a escapologist, but was left with life-changing injuries while rehearsing a stunt for America's Got Talent: Extreme in October 2021.
The 44 year-old got crushed between two burning cars when the stunt went horribly wrong.
Jonathan, who was a finalist on Britain’s Got Talent in 2019, was supposed to escape from a straightjacket while hanging upside down, suspended 30 feet above ground.
When the planned spectacle went wrong, the accident left him with broken legs, third degree burns, an injured liver, broken ribs, a punctured lung and a T11 spinal cord injury that saw him confined to a wheelchair.
While he has lost sensation from the waist down, he has refused to allow his situation to get the better of him.
He previously told The Sun: “It'd be very easy for me to look at my situation and be like, ‘Woe is me, I'm so unlucky, I've had all of these terrible things happen to me.
"Or I could look at the same situation and be like, ‘Oh my God, I'm so lucky, I got a second chance, I can still cuddle my daughter, kiss my fiancé, sip a margarita and watch the sunset'. That second chance at life is something that I am incredibly grateful for every day."
Two months before his accident, Jonathan had started dating Amanda, who had previously been married to actor Martin Freeman.
The pair have stuck together throughout the challenging last couple of years and are stronger than ever.
During an appearance on Lorraine, Amanda - who quit Strictly Come Dancing amid a rumoured feud with pro partner Giovanni Pernice - said: "I forget he's in a wheelchair, he's independent and strong.
"He's genuinely my hero, I don't know what I'd do without him. He's so supportive and gorgeous."
Jonathan now has a new career as a hypnotherapist and Amanda claims he cured her of her years-long struggle with anxiety.
He has said of his new job: “People are very suspicious of hypnotherapy because they’ve only seen cheesy entertainers on TV that are going to make you think you're a penguin!

"It's very misunderstood and I really want people to understand. It's a panacea, something that can help with any number of unwanted feelings, behaviours, emotions, and medical conditions.
“It’s learning in a way that we're not used to learning because we are used to learning consciously. Hypnosis is a controlled method of learning unconsciously."
