My council house was a building site when I moved in -I turned into a home with Matalan bargains, now it looks stunning
A COUNCIL tenant has shared how she transformed her house from drab to fab using her impressive DIY skills.
Single mum Abby Pettican shared her house tranformation via a video posted to her TikTok channel @abpettican.
She often uses the account to share insights into her life as a mum of a young toddler.
The caption to Abby's video reads: "Before and after…council house to home".
In the video, Abby shared what her house looked like when she moved in.
Paint was peeling off the walls, the floorboards were bare and stained and the furniture was sparse.

Abby set to work on the decorating straight away, painting the walls, adding in carpets and jazzing the place up with furniture and decorations.
The finished project looks fab, and the house looks unrecognisable.
In her daughter's bedroom Abby has painted the walls a soft pink colour on the bottom half, with a white love heart print on the top half.
The room is adorned with adorable heart shaped decorations and pink cushions, and she even has her own TV attached to the wall.
In the main bedroom, Abby has chosen a stylish grey wallpaper from Matalan.
"It was only £9 a roll. A bargain", she said.
In the dining room, Abby has installed wood flooring and an elegant glass table and matching chairs sits in the middle of the room.
Abby's video has clearly left many openmouthed, as it has racked up over 163,000 views.
TIkTok users raced to the video's comments section to share their thoughts on Abby's renovation.
One user said: "You should be very proud of yourself, you've created a beautiful home."
Another user remarked: "It looks so beautiful.
"Feels so homey even through the screen."
