I hated the grey in my kitchen so transformed it using a Poundland bargain – it cost me under £40 & I love how it looks

A CASH-SAVVY mum has shared how she transformed her dark grey kitchen thanks to a bargain buy from Poundland.

Those looking to give their homes a makeover will know that this usually is a rather costly project - but one woman, Heather Barclay, recently took to TikTok to prove that doesn't necessarily have to be the case.

The DIY enthusiast, 23, from Scotland, had found herself ''hating'' the sold grey paint on the kitchen walls and desperately wanted to change them.

But instead of spending a fortune on brand new tiles or hours of messy painting, the savvy mum-of-three came up with a better idea - to use stick-on tiles.

Although the market is full of these, Heather had nabbed 12 packs of PEP&CO Self-Adhesive Peel & Stick Tiles 26 x 26cm in White from Poundland.

In total, the mum revealed in a video posted on her platform, she had spent a little under £40 for the makeover, with one packet retailing for £3.

Although the process of applying them was relatively ''easy'' in her eyes, the mum-of-three warned that cutting them to fit around areas, such as the sockets, was ''a bit stressful''.

To those keen to put these stick-on tiles to test, Heather advised to ''overlap them a tiny bit'' when applying the product onto the wall to avoid any gaps in-between.

''But yeah, how good does that look?'' the crafts fanatic couldn't have been more pleased with the kitchen glow-up in her clip.

''Easy, peasy! I think that looks so goof for £30!''

She went on in the comments: ''I did use a wee tool [to get the air out], same one I used to get the air out the counter wrap, some at the end I done rapid, so they’ll probably need re-doing.''

Don't have a Poundland on your high street? The DIY fan claimed fellow shoppers can also get stick-on tiles from Home Bargains and B&M - however, she reckoned Poundland were offering the best deal.

Amazed by the Before and After snaps, dozens raced to comments to share their thoughts - and whilst many admired the results, some also warned Heather about the quality of the £3 bargain.

One Poundland customer said: '''I had these, then after couple months they go yellow.''

Someone else chimed in: ''Don't put them by hob, they will melt when hob is on.''

''I've got them but don't advice as cooker splash back, steam heat wrecked them,'' a social media user added.

''I got a glass ghost white splash back and it looks even better, £32 [from] Amazon.''

A fourth penned: ''Might get these really want to make my kitchen look better, I hate my tiles.''

''I got them and put them on the front of my bath and I love it,'' someone else said.
