I got tree-fished by Asda – my sorry-looking excuse for a Xmas tree is why you need to see them on display before buying

A WOMAN has complained she was tree-fished by Asda after splashing out on a space-saving Christmas tree from the supermarket.

Sharn explained that she wanted a cute tree for their "first Christmas as a family", so decided to get the Asda one.

But after seeing everyone online complaining about the tree, she was keen to see what state hers was in.

Opening it up, she said in a video on her TikTok page: "Luckily, mine wasn't too bad.

"But it was still skinny as hell.

"I had to pull all these branches to make it look a bit thicker, a bit fuller, but I still hated it."

Sharn decided to make a "bauble garland" to try and make the tree look a bit fuller, and added her decorations on top of it.

"This is what I ended up with," she sighed.

"It is a cute first tree, but, you know, it could have been better."

Concluding her video, Sharn said: "Guys, make sure that she's on display before you buy them, because Asda is catfishing out here!"

"Setting up our skinny ASDA tree for our 1st Christmas as a family," Sharn captioned her video.

People quickly took to the comments section to have their say, with many praising Sharn for how she made the tree look so much better.

"Wow you really rescued that! well done," one wrote.

"You made that look so good!" another added.

"I bought an Asda tree last year and it was so sparse I threw it away!"

"The boxes don't show you the correct picture at all," Sharn replied.

"It was just a tree, and then you made it beautiful," a third said.

"I bought this tree and was so disappointed! I have to say though you’ve done a really good job making it look good!" someone else praised.

"F**k off i’ve got this and it’s fumed me," another said.

"It can be fixed! Lol," Sharn replied.

"I looked at the box and was ready to buy it," someone else admitted.

"Luckily they had them on display and saw they looked nothing like the picture."

As Sharn responded: "Yes the box is very deceiving! There weren't any on display at mine."

"Stunning decorations!!! But girl you deserve a better tree," another wrote.

With Sharn replying: "Thank you & I know!

"It's our 1st tree& Christmas in our new home so we’re on a budget atm, still came out lovely."

"Me too, i hate it!" someone else admitted.
