My tree comes down on Christmas Day at 6pm – trolls are so cruel about my decision but there’s a reason behind it
WHEN do you take your Christmas tree and the rest of your decorations down?
Most people tend to wait until the festive season is officially over, at some point between the end of December and beginning of January - but not one woman.
One mum has revealed that she does it at 6pm on the dot on Christmas Day every year.
And she shared how she had a good reason to end the Christmas celebrations early.
Georgia, a 24-year-old from Hartlepool, Durham, explained that it's her little girl's birthday on Boxing Day and so she swaps the Christmas tree for cake candles.
The mum-of-two uploaded an 18-second time lapse video on TikTok, in which she was seen dismantling the tree, before decorating the room again with balloons and birthday presents.

She then wrote alongside it: “When your daughter’s birthday is December 26.
“Time to get on with the birthday decorating.”
In the comments, she continued to lift the lid on the reason behind her controversial choice.
She said: “If my birthday was the day after Christmas I can think of nothing worse than having the tree up so that’s why I take it down.”
Georgia added: “I try and make it as normal as possible for her.
“It’s our own little family tradition to take the tree down on Christmas night ready for her birthday tomorrow.”
However, not everyone was so convinced that they'd do the same - and slammed her choice.
One commenter typed: “Couldn’t think of anything worse than taking my tree down, stuffed after my dinner.”
Another social media user said: “My sister's birthday is the 23rd. We keep Christmas stuff up and just do their birthdays that day.”
But many fellow TikTok users came to Georgia's rescue and said they thought it was a lovely gesture.
One person said: “I love this,' a fifth gushed. 'I think it's really thoughtful that you bring Christmas celebrations to an end to celebrate her birthday’.”
Another wrote: “Well done you're such a good mum hope you all had a great day xx.”
Georgia later shared a follow up video of her redecorating her sitting room for her daughter's birthday.
She added lots of bunting and a pile of wrapped presents.
She even showed that she goes one step further by decorating in the kitchen.

This won Georgia yet more praise from some social media users, who said they couldn't believe she went to such lengths when most people are relaxing on the sofa with some Quality Streets.
One person wrote: “What an absolutely amazing mummy! You’re perfect.”
