BBC radio star reveals she turned down Strictly – and her mum refused to speak to her for a week
A BBC radio star has revealed that she turned down Strictly Come Dancing, leading her mum to refuse to speak to her for a week.
Edith Bowman, 50, appeared on The One Show and host Alex Jones began by saying: “First of all Edith, we hear that your mum isn’t going to be happy that we’re not going to reveal you as one of this year’s Strictly contestants.”
The radio star couldn’t help but laugh as she replied: “Oh yes sorry mum, sorry, not this year I’m afraid, no.”
Alex went on to ask Edith if her mum, Eleanor, really wants her to take part in the show, to which she replied: “She didn’t speak to me for a week once when I got asked once to do it.
“I kept ringing her and she wasn’t answering.”
Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby joined Edith on The One Show, and told Edith: “You’d be great on there. I’ve seen your dance moves, and I think you’d be really good.”
