Thrilled with her epic transformation, the DIY enthusiast took to social media to show off her skills.

Posting on DIY On A Budget Official, a private Facebook group with a staggering 2.2 million members, Vicky shared before and after pictures of her en-suite’s overhaul, leaving many open-mouthed.

She said: “Our very tired 25-year-old en-suite needed updating without spending a fortune, so we changed the shower, shower door, radiator and tap, painted the tiles white and replaced the taps with black ones.

“I love green so decided to paint the walls green and used the V33 tile paint from B&Q.”

Prior to its overhaul, Vicky’s bathroom was very dated - with beige tiles and flooring.

The space was fairly dark and was in need of modernising.

But Vicky understood the assignment - and now, her bathroom is incredibly bright and trendy.

The green walls have brightened up the space and the black details have added a touch of class to the once old-fashioned space.

When it came to painting the tiles, Vicky expressed that it took six hours between the coats.

She explained: “I did five very thin coats with a foam roller. Then you can’t use [the bathroom] for 48 hours. So [the] shower was out of action for around four days, luckily we have another bathroom.”

From Council to luxury’ people hail as woman shows off the new bathroom she got including a shower for just £130

To keep the costs down, Vicky then shared that she got a number of items from Amazon for her bathroom, including the shower, taps, flush, cupboard handles, light, flooring and soap dispensers.

As well as this, she got her towel radiator from Plumb World, and her mirrored cabinet and new toilet seat from Next.

Happy with the result

When it came to her towels, Vicky nabbed some from Bedeck, Joules and Ted Baker, and also got a plant from Tesco.

The savvy mum later shared that although she was “quoted £5-6k to replace everything”, she spent approximately £600 on the renovation.

Thrilled at her new en-suite, and saving of approximately £5,400, Vicky beamed: “Happy with the result.”

Vicky showed off her bathroom transformation on Facebook just 19 hours ago, but it has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly racked up 464 likes and 78 comments.
