I was so big, the fat on my neck suffocated me into a coma and I didn’t walk a step in 10 years – then I lost 28.5 stone
TIPPING the scales at 45.8st, Lupe Samano hadn’t left the house in ten years and was struggling from a food addiction.
Appearing on TLC as a My 600lb Life star, she revealed the reality of living a life as a desperately overweight woman.
And having suffered a diabetic coma early in her life, as well as suffocating from the fat around her neck, Lupe knew things needed to change.
Lupe spent her teens weighing 35.7st, before ending up becoming totally dependent on her husband later on in life when she was the age of 39.
Due to her weight, Lupe suffers from diabetes and has suffered kidney failure and has been in a diabetic coma.
Speaking on the show, she admitted: "I've lost motivation to do anything for myself. My body is starting to break down.

“Everything I do is so hard, it’s a struggle.
“Things are so hard for me, I’ve lost motivation to do anything for myself.
“My body is starting to break down. My weight has taken a toll on my heart, my kidneys, my liver, my legs, everything.
“I feel helpless, and worthless.
“Because of my weight, I am diabetic.
“I already had a diabetic coma, and there was so much fat around my neck it was suffocating me.”
She added: “I walked into the yard [one day], and then I never walked out.”
Lupe’s struggles with food first started at an early age after she claims her father abandoned her and her sister in a bathtub and never returned.
She found she turned to food as a coping mechanism to deal with the trauma, but that soon changed for her after getting help from Dr Nowzaradan to overcome her struggles.
She followed an intense diet and exercise regime, and was soon able to qualify for a gastric bypass.
Lupe went on to lose an incredible 28.5st and was down to just 15.7st in 2019.
In an update on her YouTube channel last year, she wrote: "Sometimes I feel like a failure… sometimes I feel I accomplished nothing in life, but after watching this, I can honestly say I've come [a long] way."
"I've accomplished a whole lot!
"I might not be [where] I want to be, but I’m not [where] I [used] to be, so I thank God for the strength he has given me to make it through every trial and tribulation I have had to face."
The reality star looks totally different and much more healthy.
Her health journey has gathered a lot of attention with many concerned about her health and wanting the best for her.
Over 7,000 people have taken to YouTube to share their support.
One wrote: “Food addiction is real. It is just like drug addiction. I don't blame her, I blame the people around her who are enablers and allowed her to reach this point. No one should live like this.”
Another added: “She was doing great for a bit, she ended up leaving her husband Gilbert after she revealed that he had abused (forcing her to be intimate after she had surgery which caused an infection) her.
“She was with another man for a bit while she dropped down to 220 pounds but unfortunately he died in 2019 (due to kidney failure, which felt eerie).
“Last I could find was that she was living well and single. Hope she's still doing okay.”
