One homeowner in particular to join the trend is Shannon, whose renovating videos have since gone viral.

She revealed how she transformed her home from rough and rugged to chic and classic on a tight budget as well.

Taking to TikTok, Shannon showed how she repainted her hallway and accessorised it with furniture from Dunelm, B&M and B&Q.

First off she started with a before picture of her staircase, which didn’t have any carpet or flooring on and was in need of a bit of TLC

She then followed this with a ‘before picture of her upstairs living hallway space, which was a similar style to her staircase.

Shannon then follows these with her transformation pictures and the results are amazing.

She added panelling above the stairs by using wallpaper from Wilko's and a tall ladder.

Shannon also added a black and brown console table from Dunelm in the upstairs hallway.

In the comments section she said that the console table has now been discontinued, but “B&Q will do a similar one.”

She also added Day & Night Blinds from Dunelm, and black frames on the staircase wall which were bought from B&M.

Many DIY fans rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts and ask her questions.

And Shannon replied: “Yeah it was, I just managed to steam it off and it took a while though there was loads of wall paper behind it too.”

Wanting to learn more about how Shannon got a council house, one asked: “How did you get council house, please reply.”

Shannon replied: “You’ll need to sign up with your local council.”
