I got my £1,600 wedding dress for £25 in a charity shop – it was brand new from a boutique and fits like a glove

It’s not hard to understand why the bride was thrilled with her find, as wedding dresses are the second biggest expense when it comes to your big day.

According to the National Wedding Survey, the average UK bride spent £1350 on their dream dress and bespoke gowns can often cost even more.

Speaking her thrifty find on Reddit, the blushing bride revealed that she’d found the stunning dress whilst looking through the rails at a charity shop.

The post even had a photo of the beautiful bride wearing the princess style gown, which was strapless and had a full skirt.

It even had romantic details such as layers of tulle, delicate eyelash lace and a slight train which elegantly flowed behind the bride.

Amazingly, the wedding dress had never been worn with the bride revealing that it still had the tags on when she picked it up.

“My friend guided me to a charity shop that had a donation of brand new wedding dresses from a boutique; this had £1595 on the tag,” she gushed.

She didn’t even need to spend money on getting the gown altered as the white dress ‘fits like a glove’.

Though you would expect to pay thousands of pounds on a wedding dress, this bride picked up the boutique number for just £25.

Almost instantly, her post went viral on the r/ThriftStoreHauls forum and it has received over 10,000 likes so far.

In the comments, other Redditors were impressed with the bride’s thrifty find and sent warm wishes for her big day.

“If life hands you a chance to go full princess you go full princess,” said one stunned users, with another adding that the princess gown called for ‘the biggest tiara’.

“Wow. Your future husband is definitely gonna cry when he sees you in that dress. You look beautiful,” wrote a third, saying: “Great find and congrats on the pending nuptials.”

They added: “I’m a dude and if my future wife looked like you do in a dress like that I would be speechless.”

A fourth Reditt user attendee even said that they would share this tip with other brides-to-be, commenting: "I work in weddings pretty often and I am shocked that I've never heard of this before. “That is absolutely genius and I'm going to start suggesting it at every opportunity I get!”

Even the bride had to admit that she was a little taken aback by the staggering wedding buy and admitted that she’d originally planned to go for much simple gown.

“I was quite prepared for a cheaper less 'fancy' dress, but I'm going full princess now,” she explained, adding: “Dress cost + seamstress will still be significantly less than hanger cost! Very happy!”
