Why are 4G calls turned off on O2? How to fix weird notification showing up on iPhone
OVER the past few years, numerous O2 customers have reported a strange alert coming up on their iPhone which says 4G calling has been turned off.
But it leaves customers who are new to the pop-up baffled.
Why has O2 turned off my 4G calls?
If you've had a notification which says "4G Call Turned Off" - like the one pictured above - you're not alone.
The strange alert doesn't exactly go into great detail about what or why this has happened either.
"O2 has turned off 4G calls on your account," it simply reads.
This can be a little alarming and leave you wondering if you're still able to make any calls at all.

It leaves people unable to make Wi-Fi assisted calls, which is essential in areas of low mobile signal.
However, you are still able to make calls using your standard network signal.
When the issue arose in 2021, O2 said it was a technical issue.
Then in 2023, O2 claimed it has something to do with a change in the network.
The firm has previously said: "A device does this check against the network every time it’s restarted, and one is done at 24-hour intervals.
"It is not unusual for a user data update to require a device restart."
