‘Are these characters thick’ rage Emmerdale fans as they hit out at Dingle clan after Belle and Tom’s brutal showdown

EMMERDALE fans have been left seriously unimpressed after a huge plot flaw following Belle and Tom's brutal showdown.

ITV viewers were left watching from behind their hands on Wednesday night as the soap aired a special episode centring on the devastating domestic abuse plot line with Belle and Tom.

In the episode, the pair went away to Wales for what Belle understood to be a break away in order for the pair to relax and reconnect after what she had viewed as a rocky few months and her recent abortion decision.

Unbeknown to Belle, the controlling Tom had secretly planned for the pair to move, along with their dog Piper, to the rented cottage after he accepted a vet position in the middle of the Welsh countryside.

It was all part of his disturbing plot to increasingly isolate poor Belle from all of her family so that he could abuse her and keep her under his always watching eye.

However, fans have now blasted the follow-up episode which saw an increasingly worried Cain and Charity Dingle travel to Wales in order to track down Belle.

They were at first left horrified to discover Belle had fled the house whose walls were covered in blood, which Tom insisted was his despite pushing Belle onto broken glass, and whose furniture had been trashed.

Cain threatened to beat Tom up as he feared he had done the worst to his sister.

Using his manipulative streak, Tom managed to easily convince Charity and Cain that Belle was suffering from mental health issues and he had been keeping her problems a secret from the rest of the Dingle clan.

He covered all traces of his vile abuse whilst still exposing Belle's decision to abort their baby, as opposed to the miscarriage she had everyone believe, under the guise it was the best decision for her mental wellbeing.

Charity and Cain bizarrely lapped up every word he had to say as he convinced them that Belle had been having a rough time.

However, fans have been unable to believe the nonsense after Charity and other members of the Dingle clan had been convinced for weeks that Tom was controlling Belle.

They were even aware he had cameras around the house to watch his wife and was tracking every single item she purchased.

Charity had even begged Belle to walk away and tell her the truth yet after one conversation with Tom, any thoughts of his abusive nature had left her head.

They even failed to question Belle's obvious hand injury even though they had witnessed the house covered in blood.

Furiously unimpressed, it did not take long for Emmerdale fans to take to X to have their say.

One fumed: "Honestly are these characters thick as s***? Seriously?

"Camera’s all over the house, Belle takes her meds for her illness so symptoms wouldn’t be so severe, she turns up looking dishevelled, dirty and with a dirty bandage and nobody thinks it’s odd?"
