CEO ‘assassin’ Luigi Mangione restrained by cops in screaming outburst as he arrives at court after McDonald’s arrest
THE suspect accused of killing UnitedHealthcare's CEO has forcefully been dragged back to court as he faces extradition to New York, where he's charged with murder.
Luigi Mangione, who is set to appear in front of a Pennsylvania judge on Tuesday, had to be restrained by sheriff officials as he blasted that the situation was "out of touch and an insult to the intelligence of the American people."
At least three deputies had to forcefully control Mangione, 26, grabbing him by his neck as they escorted him into the courthouse for his scheduled hearing.
The outburst comes 24 hours after the suspect appeared in court on Monday evening for a preliminary arraignment on gun and forgery charges.
Mangione was arrested while eating at a McDonald's in Altoona, about 280 miles west of the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan, where Brian Thompson was killed on December 4 after an employee recognized him from the suspect's wanted posters out of New York City.
Authorities found Mangione in possession of several fake identifications, a ghost gun, and a silencer, which investigators said he used to assassinate Thompson, 50.
