I won an abandoned storage unit at auction for just £8 – I knew as soon as I found some gold that I’d hit the jackpot
SHE wasn't sure what to expect when she won an abandoned storage unit at auction for less than a tenner.
And while she was initially left "questioning my life choices" when she saw the state of the "very dirty" unit, she soon discovered it had been worth taking a gamble on.
In a video on her Treasure Coast Findings TikTok page, she explained that she and her husband had won the contents of the unit for just $10 (£7.91) at auction.
When they began sorting through things in the unit there were "a lot of unique finds", including three guns which she wasn't able to show on the video.
But it was when she discovered a case of jewellery that she knew she'd hit the jackpot.
Of a dolphin set, she said: "When I saw this I pretty much knew right away that it was gold.

"I did end up testing it and it was 14 carat gold.
"There were matching earrings and a bracelet and then, I didn't even see it here, but underneath later on I found a matching necklace as well."
She went on to find another two 14 karat gold chains, that "were marked Italy", and a vintage Native American sterling silver ring that even had the artist's name on the back.
"I was pretty excited about that find!" she said.
The discoveries continued as they found two boxes, inside each of which was an old saxophone.
"These were pretty neat," she added.
"I think if we polish them up, we might actually be able to do pretty decent on these!"
Other items they found included a Galileo's thermometer, a billiards clock, a Nutribullet Pro blender, a giant Knight chess piece, a pendant lamp, a gold watch in a box and several expensive-looking bottles of perfume.
Concluding the video, she said it had been a "lot of work" but she was "most excited" about the gold jewellery.
"We won this storage unit at auction, how do you think we did?" she captioned the video.
The comments section was quickly filled with people amazed that they'd managed to get the whole unit for just $10.
"You got some nice stuff for $10," one wrote.
"For 10 dollars.......... I'm crying!" another added.
"How did you get a unit for that low? Don't they normally start at like $50?" a third asked.
To which the woman replied: "This one the starting bid was $10 and nobody bid against us!"
"You did great! I wanna do it!" someone else commented.
