‘THE summer bag’ shoppers gush as viral Uniqlo crossbody is released in new crochet design that’s ‘giving Mamma Mia’
STEP out on the weekend and you’ll likely see someone wearing Uniqlo’s viral slouchy shoulder bag.
The crossbody number comes in a plethora of colours at £14.90, with fashionistas on TikTok raving about just how much you can fit in the Mary Poppins-esque bag.
The Round Mini Shoulder Bag took the world by storm last summer and now, ahead of 2024’s hot season, the Japanese designer has released a brand new design.
Shoppers have said the piece had “Mamma Mia vibes” and dubbed it perfect for summer holidays.
The new design is in the iconic slouchy silhouette but made from crochet, rather than nylon fabric.
Fashion content creator Lydia, behind the @fruitylolo TikTok account, took to the coveted social media platform to alert others to the bag.

“It’s official, I have found my summer bag,” she said.
“If you’re a huge fan of the Uniqlo crossbody bag like I am, then for summer, you’re gonna need this.
“This would literally be so perfect for walking round any little town or city in summer.
“Oh my god, it’s perfect.”
Lydia added that the crossbody number is “THE summer holiday bag”.
The Round Mini Crochet Bag costs £24.90 a pop and comes in two hues of light and dark beige.
Each piece has an adjustable strap for comfortable carrying on all body shapes.
Uniqlo bosses described the material as “lightweight and durable”, adding that “the round shape and adjustable shoulder strap ensure a comfortable fit”.
“Never hit buy so quickly,” Liv Lock commented on Lydia’s video.
“Fifth one of their crossbody bags to add to the collection!”
Another shopper dubbed the style as “Mamma Mia vibes”, while a third vowed to get one for their upcoming summer holiday.
After a 12-month victory lap online last year, Uniqlo's round mini shoulder bag was officially crowned the bag of the year by Lyst and Google.
