‘That would terrify me’ cry shoppers as they’re left divided over £9.99 garden decor in Home Bargains
SHOPPERS have been in a frenzy over the garden decor at Home Bargains this spring - from the viral hot air balloon solar lights to heart-shaped wreaths.
But it appears that the discount retailer has left people divided this week after revealing a "terrifying" new addition to its outdoor range.
The £9.99 novelty buys promise to add a fun touch to shoppers' flowerbeds.
Described as "unique garden decor", the playful pieces are vailable now in stores across the country.
Store bosses say the Firefly Novelty Frog Solar Light with Animated LED Eyes is designed to "brighten up your garden" with no wires or batteries needed.
Instead, the frog absorbs the sunlight during the day to emit light after dark.
"This charming little critter features animated LED eyes that add a touch of whimsy while providing eco-friendly illumination," the description adds.
The "digitally moving" LED eyes are designed to look as though the cute creature is scanning your garden.
And if you're not a frog fan, Home Bargains also offers a Firefly Novelty Snail Solar Light with Animated LED Eyes.
According to the bargain retailer, the cartoon creatures are guaranteed to "bring safety, joy, and entertainment".
Some shoppers are already raving about the "cute" garden decor as they took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, which boasts 2.6million members, to show them off.
Sharing a picture of the frog in her garden, one said: "Found this little guy today £9.99 looks lovely and so cute."
Picking up the matching frog, somebody else added: "Love this garden light from home bargains!! Had to get it! £9.99."
"This is so cute I want one", cried a third person.
A fourth echoed: "This looks really cool. Love it! And cute too."
And a fifth added: "Awwwww no way love him."
But other shoppers have been left creeped out by the garden ornaments' moving eyes.
"That would terrify me", one person confessed.
Somebody else agreed: "Especially when it gets dark outside. I'm literally scared already of that snail.
"They should make a horror film about him would be epic!!"
Another freaked out gardening fan admitted: "I find these ornaments with big eyes rather creepy."
Meanwhile, a fourth joked: "Now I could just imagine put that in the front garden and coming home at night and forgetting about it and it s**ting the life out of me."
So if you're after something a bit less animated, there's a "pretty" garden solar you might want to keep an eye out for in store instead.
Especially if you'd like your outdoor space to feel like "the cutest thing ever" in time for those BBQs and sunbathing sessions.
And it will look perfect on your garden, pathway, patio, or driveway.
Sharing pictures of the Highland Cow Crackle Ball Solar Light in action on Facebook, staff at one Home Bargains store said: "Sorry but are you actually ready for this?
"Our Highland Cow range just keeps getting better, Hattie the Highland Cow is ready to light up your garden this summer."
The playful solar light features energy-efficient LED bulbs, and automatically turns on at dusk and off at dawn, offering long-lasting illumination without adding to your energy bill.

How to find gardening bargains
Doing up your garden to enjoy on warm and sunny days needn't cost the earth.
Sun Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to get a top deal on items for the garden…
You can bag big savings on plants, shrubs and flowers, as well as gardening tools and furniture.
Many retailers have flash sales across entire seasonal ranges – often these promotions tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout.
Sign up to mailing lists of your favourite brands and you’ll be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.
Use a price comparison site to search out the best value items.
And keep a close eye on the specialbuys at Aldi and middle of Lidl drops which drop a couple of times a week and usually mean great value seasonal items for your outdoor areas.
If you are not in a hurry to buy an item, try adding it to the shopping cart online and leaving it for a couple of days.
Sometimes big brands will try to tempt you into the sale by offering you a discount.
And always check if you can get cashback before paying.
It’s especially worth using sites such as Topcashback, Quidco and app Jamdoughnut when buying bigger ticket items such as garden furniture as you’ll get a nice kickback.
