This winter is set to be a blockbuster year for seeing the northern lights in the UK and Europe with scientists predicting the best sightings of the aurora borealis in 20 years.
The sun is predicted to reach the peak of its approximately 11-year activity cycle – known as “solar maximum” – between January and October 2024, bringing with it these spectacular curtains of light. The displays have already wowed visitors to Stone Henge this month.
