Neighbours chaos as star forced to take emergency break from soap after nasty water skiing accident on holiday
NEIGHBOURS filming was thrown into chaos for weeks after one actor was forced to take an emergency break after a nasty water skiing accident.
The actor, 65, suffered a severe injury to the head leaving him unable to go back to work.
Stefan Dennis who plays Paul Robinson on Neighbours has been off work ever since his recent ski trip to recover from his concussion.
The star's hiatus has posed challenges during filming, especially with Stefan's character entangled in a complicated love quadrangle storyline.
Melanie wants to reunite with her ex-husband Toadie, but he's now married to Terese Willis. Meanwhile, Terese has her sights set on Stefan's character, Paul, who is also her on-screen ex-husband.
Rebekah Elmaloglou, who plays Terese on the soap, felt that actor needed this time off.

She told OK!: “I think it’s good though, you need to just chill out. He’s always on the go."
Stefan whose been off set for six weeks said: “It was pretty bad, I wasn’t in hospital but it was pretty awful for a couple of weeks.”
He added: "I would have been on holiday but inconveniently about six weeks ago, I had a water skiing accident and knocked my noggin, not once but twice.
"With water skiing, the adrenaline’s going and I went ‘let’s do it again!’
“And I did it again and I suffered a concussion which I’m still kind of getting over.
"So all the plans I had for this holiday are now being put on hold until the next time I have a holiday.”
Neighbours was previously axed by Channel 5 after 37 years on the airwaves.
The Australian soap was revived on Amazon Freevee last year.
However, the fate of the show hangs in the balance as its new home is set to be shut down just months into the new run.
The Super TV account on X - formerly known as Twitter - wrote: "Freevee, Amazon’s free streaming service which relaunched #Neighbours just 6 months ago, is closing down.
"Most Freevee titles are expected to move directly onto Amazon Prime Video."
