A HOMEOWNER has shared how she keeps the heat on even when the electricity and gas go out.

She explained the trick to heat up a room was passed down from her brother.

Stacy (@mamabearstacy67) shared the video with her TikTok followers.

Unfortunately, the content creator experienced a blackout in her area but was quick on her feet.

Hours without heat or electricity but Stacy was doing just fine thanks to a little trick she had picked up.

"Four hours without power but the clay pot and candle trick heats a room," she said.

Stacy lit up three candles and placed a clay pot over the top, letting the flame slowly but surely, warm up the space.

She credited the hack passed down through her lineage: "From my bro the lineman," she said.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts on her hack, many offered additional advice to make the most of the trick.

One viewer added cracks in the pot may affect the trick's efficacy.

"Tape all the cracks, you will feel where you need to seal it off the most," they said.

"Packing tape, duct tape, doesn’t matter just seal it off."
