One of those who's been spending more time in her garden is also TikTok user Lauren Elizabeth, who recently shared a jaw-dropping makeover on a budget.

The young woman, people on social media reckoned, has saved thousands by choosing to get crafty and use her DIY skills instead of hiring a professional.

The total process, which took her more than two years, cost her just under £600, thanks to bargain buys from B&Q and Amazon.

To start of the garden glow-up, Lauren used a pot of white paint to spruce up the stone wall around the fence - this 5l container cost her £30 and she'd purchased it from B&Q.

Meanwhile, for the wooden fence, the DIY fanatic, who posts under the username @laurenelizabeth_athome, used a special Weathershield matt paint in a lovely beige colour, which was retailing for £30 too.

Whilst painting some elements of the garden, the crafts enthusiast decided that her shed also needed zhuzhing up - she achieved this by painting it pitch black using £15 paint from B&Q.

Next, she showed in the video, it was time to tackle the weeds - and to ensure they didn't ruin the aesthetic, Lauren had nabbed a weed control ground cover for £26, as well as garden pegs from Amazon for a mere £7.

Once that was done, the cash-savvy gardening enthusiast started working on her brick patio, which she opted to paint black using pots of sample paint.

The DIY fanatic completed the patio glow-up by sprinkling a generous amount of kiln dried paving sand that she had picked up from B&Q for just £7.30.

As well as giving the walls a makeover with treated rough sawn (£35) which she'd attached herself, Lauren also ordered massive bags of gravel - she used this for both her front and back garden.

This brought the overall costs of the project to £569.94 - although this didn't include the tools, as she already had them.

Since being shared on the platform, where Lauren regularly posts home-related content, the clip has racked up more than 40k views in less than 24 hours.

Dozens flocked to comments to praise the DIY enthusiast, as well as share their thoughts.

One said: ''Looks really good, deffo on a budget that would cost £1000's if you had a company in.''

Another agreed, adding: ''Looks wonderful! Only thing I’d say is the sage colour of the shed previously suited the vibe more!''

A third chimed in: ''Top marks, not many willing to give it a go.''
