I'M A Celeb have revealed why Ant and Dec's watches are always covered with stickers while they are hosting the show.

Many viewers were left scratching their heads after noticing black tape or plasters covering the Geordie duo's watches.

But it turns out there is a straightforward reason the hosts slap them on their timepieces.

The real reason has been revealed with I'm A Celebrity producers confirming that measures are taken to ensure the contestants have "no idea what time it is."

It means the celebrities will be kept in the dark in regards to what time it is Down Under.

Replying to a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, the programme's official account stated: "Ant & Dec's watches are covered to stop the celebs finding out what time it is - they have no idea, as no clocks in camp."

Super fans of the show echoed this reason as one said: "Ant & Dec's watches are covered to stop the celebs finding out what time it is – they have no idea, as no clocks in camp."

However, in a previous Bushtucker Trial, Ant's watch face appeared to be visible throughout the challenge.

So it appears the boys only use the tactic when the Geordie duo wearing short sleeves.

When questioned by a viewer back in 2017, I'm A Celebrity: Extra Camp hosts Joel Dommett and Scarlett Moffatt gave the same reason for the watches being covered.

"It's so the campmates don't know the time, so all the watches are covered for the people that see the campmates all the time, like Ant, Dec and Medic Bob. 

"I think it’s just so you’re really disorientated, like we had no concept of time," Scarlett explained. 

It comes as another I'm A Celeb 'feud' has been brought to light after Jamie Lynn Spears has failed to hit follow for two of her campmates.

On Wednesday Jamie shocked fans when it was revealed she had quit the jungle on medical grounds.

Her departure was brought up during today's instalment of ITV's This Morning.

Prior to Jamie quitting the show, she was seen breaking down in tears on a number of occasions, despite managing to settle after a rocky start.

Her departure came days just her co-star Grace Dent quit on medical grounds.
